Keith Alan Huey Bio.

Keith describes his work as "modern, in the true sense of the word",  and when pressed to describe his style he says, "I feel my work is  American Tonalist, with a bent toward Realist,  Romantic, Idealistic, Post- impressionist, Impressionist. I know that sounds confusing yet I can only say these are the art movements that have had the greatest impacts on my work,”  Huey paints the natural beauty that surrounds him. His expressive power and color harmony helps him to communicate to the viewer his profound respect for nature.  "When you look at one of my paintings the first thing I desire is that you feel it deep with-in your soul."

            "Painting el Plein Air painting is one of the my greatest pleasures in the production of a fine art.” John Carlson said that “an artist who is going to paint landscapes must visit nature often."

Keith studied portrait painting for 2 years with William Kufuhl at the Westlake School of Art. 

Huey has traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, and Austria, and Painted for three winters in Hawaii, 3 1/2 month in Alaska, The Yukon, and the Queen Charlotte Islands in BC Canada.

He now resides in beautiful Santa Fe   His work is in many corporate as well as private collections in the U.S. and abroad. Including Oscar winner Russell Crowe,  August Bush III,  Stevie Salas,
